Modena.Ferrari, Pavarotti ...Need to say more?

Modena.
Pavarotti's home town.

In all the shades of the sunlight.

An ancient town, now known as "the capital of engines", since the factories of the famous Italian sports car makers FerrariLamborghiniMaserati are or were located here or in the city nearby.
One of Ferrari's cars, the 360 Modena, was named after the town itself.
And one of the colors for Ferrari is Modena yellow.
This is Enzo Ferrari's museum near by.

No, I did not go there.
We stayed in the city.
Grabbed lunch and coffee on the way.

Modena is a relatively mid sized city.
Approx. 190 000 inhabitants.

The center point of this city is its cathedral.

The Cathedral of Modena and the annexed campanile are a UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Duomo of Modena was finished in 1184. Modena's Duomo inspired campaigns of cathedral and abbey building in emulation through the valley of the Po.

The Torre Ghirlandina, the impressive tower attached to the cathedral slopes almost as much as the tower at Pisa.

Piazza Grande, the square in the center of Modena with the cathedral and other  medieval buildings.

It is amazing how all these cathedrals differ and every one of them has so many details that steel your attention.

Racing who will ride the lions.
Silly group we were.

Where to my fair lady this time?

On our way to The Synagogue.

And all the way to the 17th century Town Hall.

Funny statue.
Selfies were a great hit back then I see...
Had to play along.

50 shades of sunshine I see on this square here.
And I love each and every shade I see.
I usually whistle or hum this song then:
"Walking on sunshine...whooooowhoo...
And it feels so good!"

And yes, it is true.
Th sun is what you need to be happy.
Though I look like I just bite a lemon!

While others need a Ferrari to be happy.

Meanwhile in Greece.

One in a middle is a regular sized lemon.

Apparently they grow yellow watermelons on lemon trees.
Greeks.
Showing off.
Because they can.
:)
